If you follow me on Instagram Stories, you’ll know I love a good weights session. But this wasn’t always the case. I used to be that person who thought 5lb dumb bells were all I should use. After having my children and suffering chronic pain from pregnancy, nursing, and carrying them, I started working with a trainer and before I knew it (really it took a couple of years), I became a weight lifter.

There are so many misconceptions and fads around fitness that can really over complicate things – and also damage our relationship with exercise. But it is such an important part of our health, so I wanted to bring you a conversation with the real goods about fitness and strength training for women.

I am thrilled to introduce this conversation with personal trainer and go-to women’s fitness expert, Samantha Montpetit-Huynh. We talked about:
